Why There’s No Such Thing as Being Self Made
“Self made” a word that gets thrown around especially by people who believe their success has happened solely due to their own efforts
Are they right?
Are they wrong?
Maybe none but let’s take a closer look at this belief of being self-made
Every dream to be more, have more, do more, and give more starts with you and no one else.
Your willpower to avoid procrastinating, do what you need to do, imagine as things should be, and take repeated action to cut through resistance all rely on you, so after doing it mostly alone you may be tempted to say you did it all by yourself
But
This is simply downplaying the influence others had on your journey.
You see, all of our destinies are linked to each other, I’m a believer in soul contracts and each of us doing what we came here to do.
You may think your dream started with you but 100% of the time our dreams are not “original”, they are often a product of inspiration.
We see people living the lives we would like to, and we challenge ourselves to do the same or better and in situations where people don’t inspire us, problems created by others push us to create our own solutions.
And what about loneliness?
Sometimes our greatest focus to remould ourselves comes from loneliness, when everyone leaves, you start to see clearly and see what’s important.
So is anyone truly independent?
There is no self-made person, and none of us are truly independent because we are not even here to be independent.
We are here to understand ourselves through others because people provide us the opportunity for self-discovery, and it is this self-discovery that helps us “level up.”
Being self-made is an illusion, one often created by a large ego and that’s all there is to it (at least this is what I think)
So recognize the value of everything that played a part in your journey, even when you think you did it all alone because truth is you didn’t, no one does.
